PARALEGAL PRACTICE (M.A. & LL.M.)

MASTER OF LAWS (LL.M.) IN PARALEGAL PRACTICE & MASTER OF ARTS (M.A.) IN PARALEGAL PRACTICE

PARALEGAL PRACTICE (M.A. & LL.M.)

The paralegal sector is an essential growth catalyst that aids the development process by expanding the provision of legal services and access to justice. It is in recognition of this that UGSoL has gone to great lengths to mount this Paralegal Practice programme.

The overall objectives of the MA/LL.M Paralegal Practice programme are to:
1.    Provide opportunity for students to receive relevant training, practical skills, and necessary education to effectively contribute to the growth of the legal sector.

2.    Prepare students to become an integral part of legal teams in various legal spaces and to participate in the provision of a circumscribed set of legal services.

3.    Equip students with mastery over basic legal concepts essential for paralegal practice.

4.    Build and instil valuable employability skills that can be readily applied to a wide range of careers in the field of law in public and private sector projects.

5.    Challenge students to be creative and critical thinkers on legal and non-legal (ethical, social, cultural) matters that affect the provision of a circumscribed set of legal services and access to justice.
