William Kofi Owusu Demitia is a lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Law and prior to joining the School of Law, he lectured at a number of reputable Ghanaian universities including Central University, Pentecost University, Lancaster University Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, the International Fiscal Association, the International Bar Association, an associate member of the American Bar Association, a Tax Practitioner of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana and a Master Tax Professional (SA) – South African Institutes of Tax Professionals.

He has published five articles in well-respected international journals such as Tax Notes International, the International Transfer Pricing Journal, the Bulletin of International Taxation and he co-authored the fourth edition of the book; “Law of Taxation in Ghana” with Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor and Dr. Abdallah Ali-Nakyea.

William has presented papers at international conferences in Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa on various issues relating to taxation.

He has contributed to the Ministry of Finance of Ghana’s Workshops aimed at drafting policies for Safe Harbour Provisions in Transfer Pricing Regulations; Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS); Transfer Pricing issues in Technology Transfer Agreements; Exchange of Information for Customs Valuation and Transfer Pricing Regimes as well as Taxation of High Net worth
