Project Period: November – December 2021

Grant Partner: GIZProject Summary:

The maiden conference convened policy makers, legal academics, lawyers and development partners from across Ghana and Africa with the specific objective of taking deep dives into the ailing legal educational sector in Ghana and Africa, and the broader objective of tackling the dearth of lawyers and other legal practitioners on the continent. It was also to increase awareness on the need for adequate resources, both human and institutional, to guarantee the attainment of Targets 3, 5, 9 and 10 of Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, which is “to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”.
