The University of Ghana School of Law (UGSoL) conferred degrees upon the Class of 2025 LLB graduates at the University of Ghana's Great Hall on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The ceremony was a momentous occasion, marking a significant milestone in the lives of the graduands.
The graduating class had much to celebrate, particularly their outstanding achievement in emerging as national champions at the 2025 Templars Jessup Ghana Moot Competition. This accomplishment showcases their exceptional legal knowledge, research skills, and ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world problems.
In her address, the University of Ghana's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, emphasized the importance of academic excellence, research, and student welfare. She highlighted the university's commitment to student-centered learning, technology integration, and interdisciplinary research, encouraging graduates to make a profound impact on society.
The guest speaker, Dr. Sangu Delle, CEO and Chairman of CarePoint congratulated all the graduands on a job well done. "Today, we gather not just to honor the achievements of the graduands but to reflect on the kind of leaders and citizens we want to become," he emphasized. In his final remarks, he admonished the graduates, "The future you build will be defined not by the wealth you accumulated but by the lives you touch, the people you help, the injustices you right. What will you be remembered for? Rise to the occasion, lead with courage, lead with integrity, lead with love because this is the Ghana we deserve."
The valedictorian, Mr. Alhassan Aboagye, a dedicated and curious graduate of the University of Ghana School of Law, recounted some of the challenges they faced as students and how it shaped their journey. "Our success is not ours alone. We owe an immeasurable debt to the people who stood by us," he expressed with heartfelt gratitude. He encouraged his fellow graduates to keep seeking education beyond the degree, as the world is fast advancing. "The future isn't a distant reality; it is ours to build. Congratulations, Class of 2025, our greatest work lies ahead, and it has been an awesome ride doing this with you," he ended strongly. Mr. Aboagye graduated with a sterling CGPA of 3.78.
