The Legacy of Professor Isaac Amissah-Aidoo Lives on Through Generous Library Donation

The late Professor Isaac Amissah-Aidoo's family made a significant contribution to the University of Ghana School of Law by donating his extensive library on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Led by his daughter, Ann Amissah-Cassell, the delegation included Her Excellency Mrs. Houda Norshie Arnaout, the Global Women Commissioner for International Youth Network For UN Security Council Resolution 2250, and Hon. Anita Abaidoo, the Founder, HAAA Foundation, who presented the collection of books that comprised his library. The library donation included a diverse range of articles and law titles authored by both local and international writers.

In a touching speech, Ms. Amissah-Cassell highlighted her father's esteemed career, spanning across three different Ghanaian administrations - Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's, Professor K.A. Busia's, and Flt. Lt. J.J. Rawlings'. Expressing their intent to honour Professor Amissah-Aidoo's legacy. “With his love to give, his love for education, his love for people, my sister Catherine Amissah-Ayensu and myself thought if we could donate his law books to the University of Ghana School of Law, we would be doing what he would like and also be serving our future lawyers” She stated.

Ms. Amissah-Cassell emphasized the importance of utilizing the knowledge gained from the library to benefit the future lawyers of Ghana and the nation as whole. The generous act of the Amissah-Aidoo family has not only enriched the school's library but also created a lasting legacy that will inspire and educate generations of legal minds to come.

The books were gratefully received by Mr. Joseph Antah, the Head of the Library Unit, alongside Ms. Susie Naa Odarchoe Lamptey, the School Administrator, and other staff members.
