Prof. Peter Atudiwe Atupare is a former Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Cape Coast. His research interests are in the areas of Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Law of Torts, Conflict of Laws, Human Rights, Socio-Legal Studies, Law and Society, Administrative Law and Health Law and Ethics. He is a respected member of Public Law in Ghana, Nigeria and across the globe, especially in the areas of Constitutional Theory and Human Rights.  He is one of the youngest prolific writers in the School of Law University of Ghana. He has over 40 main publications including 4 books.  His books and book chapters are published with reputable international publishers such as University of Cambridge Press, LexisNexis, Routledge, Wildy Simmonds & Hill and Juta and Company Ltd. His journals are published, among others, in Harvard Human Rights Journal; International Journal of Human Rights and Constitutional Studies; International Journal of Public Law and Policy; Journal of Law, Policy and Globalization; Journal of Comparative Law in Africa; African Human Rights Law Journal (AHRLJ); Journal of Sustainable Development in Africa; and Journal of Politics and Law; and in other top law journals in Ghana.  

He was voted the best Lecturer by Law Students Union in 2022/2023 academic Year. He has led and co-led the development and redesign of teaching curriculums and materials for Jurisprudence; Law & Society; Conflict of Laws; the Law of Torts in Ghana; Constitutional Law; Research Methodology and Proposal Writing; Human Rights Context in Oil and Gas; and Social, Economic and Cultural Rights. He is the supervisor and committee member of some of the University of Ghana School of Law Ph.D students, especially those in the area of Public Law. He has supervised over 40 long papers of LL.M graduates, some of whom have progressed into the Ph.D. programme mounted in this University.  Prof. Atupare has chaired and been a member of many critical boards and committees at the national level, in University of Ghana, and University of Cape Coast. These include the University of Ghana’s Disciplinary Committee for Senior and Junior Staff.
