An experiential learning programme that seeks to provide an opportunity for non-lawyers to acquire legal knowledge, practical and problem-solving skills from seasoned legal practitioners and academics that will enable them to provide a circumscribed set of legal services in the legal sector.

Law and Practice of Public Administration

Provides innovative public service education for pre-career and in-career persons, with focus on the interface between law and practice of public administration. Aim is to open graduates up to relevant and specialised skills in law and public administration, public financial administration legal framework, legal basis of public administration, administrative policy development and implementation, labour and employment arbitration, the contract of employment, labour law and human rights.

Natural Resource

Advanced as a crucial sector for Ghana and Africa's developmental trajectory, this course includes the Political Economy of Natural Resource Regulation; Environmental Protection in Natural Resources Extraction: Law, Policy and Trends; Renewable Energy Law and Policy; Basic Geology of Oil and Gas; Environmental Aspects of Oil and Gas Law; On-Shore Mining Law; Regulation of Trees and Forest Resources in Ghana; Regulation of Inland, Ground, Coastal Water and Seabed Resources; Marine Ecology & Environmental Protection; International Maritime Conflict Management; Gender-based violence, and Law of the Marine Environment.

Maritime Law

Introduces students to the features of maritime law, legal environment of the shipping industry, Jurisdiction, Ship Legal Personality, Ownership, Registration and Nationality of Vessels, Salvage, Marine Insurance, Pilotage and Towage, Vessel-source Pollution and Compensation Claims, Port State Control, rules on carriage of goods by sea, charterparties, carriage of goods under Bills of Lading, obligation of ship owners, shippers and charterers, Limitation of Liability, Admiralty, Maritime Safety, Security, and sustainable use of Marine resources.

National Security Law and Practice

Handles the theoretical, practical and regulatory dynamics of national security laws. Courses include National Security in Theory; Managing National Security; Cybersecurity and National Security: Current Issues; International Criminal Law (Core Crimes and Concepts); Policing in the 21st Century: Law Enforcement in a ‘Digi-World’; International Humanitarian Law; International Criminal Law (Prosecution and Practice); Online Privacy and Data Protection; and Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Systems.

Law of the Sea and Ocean Governance

Deals with the theoretical, practical and regulatory dynamics of ocean-related development strategies. Courses include Ocean Governance and Policy; Maritime Security and the Law of the Sea; Dispute Settlement in the Law of the Sea; Introduction to Public International Law; Maritime Safety and Security; Admiralty Law; International Law, Sustainability and Development Seminar; Marine Ecology and Environmental Protection; International Maritime Conflict Management; Law of Marine Environment; and Law of Marine Insurance.

Labour Law and Practice

Provides distinctively in-depth study of domestic, international labour, employment and human rights law in a comparative approach which ensures that graduates remain relevant in this specialised area within the present changing phase of labour and employment.

Law and Development

An interdisciplinary study of law and economics and social development. Courses include Law and International Development; International Law, Sustainability and Development; Multinational Enterprises and the Law; Law, Governance and Development; and Gender and the Law.
